All in all a solid outing for a not yet done spring training squad.  It's been a long day but wanted to get an article up about opening day.  Let's focus on the good stuff:

• DICE-K.  Was kind of upset at first about the 5 walks, but bottom line is this:  Last year when he blew up, he blew up.  This year he blew up early, managed to minimize the damage, and get out of it with the chance for a W.  I'll take that on opening day.
• MANNY.  Last April was a disaster. 'nuf ced.
• PAPS.  Probably think I've lost my mind now.  But, I'm going to look at closer's differently this year.   Their job is to enter games with save opportunities, and save them.  He did that.  He could enter 40 games this year ahead by 2, give up one run in each game, get 40 saves and have an ERA of 9.00.  1 save opp, 1 save.
